Of Earth, and In-between: exploring liminal spaces & life transitions
"The only cure for grief, is to grieve"
Rabbi Earl Grollman
A compassionate and transformative space
What you'll gain
This container was created with deep care to hold quiet moments, tender shifts, and the stories still waiting to be told. You’ll be lovingly witnessed and supported while gathering heart-centred, practical ways to navigate change.
We’ll explore:
- Grief literacy – understanding the many faces and rhythms of grief
- Companioning ourselves – being with what is, just as it is, without rushing to ‘fix’
- Strengthening support – grounded, compassionate approaches for real life
- Ritual across cultures – how ceremony can act as a powerful bridge & bring structure to chaos
- Our own stories of loss & change – how grief shapes our experience
- The power of presence – learning how attention and energy can heal
Reflection & Restoration
Alongside group learning, you’ll be invited into:
- Gentle journaling and personal reflection
- Guided meditations & simple breathing practices
- Nervous system regulation techniques
These tools can help you stay centred and grounded, even in difficult moments.
Embodied Learning
Grief lives in the body as much as the mind, heart and spirit. Through mindful movement, we’ll invite balance and release.
- In-person: a uniquely curated yin yoga class completes our workshop
- Online: you’ll receive recommendations for a beautiful online yin yoga class (optional add-on)
Yin yoga offers a safe, gentle way for the body and mind to slow down, release tension, and process deep emotions in presence & connection.
Integration & Homework
Each week you’ll receive optional ‘homework’ invitations, which are varied practices to deepen your insights and support your ongoing journey. These are not requirements, simply opportunities.

Frequently asked questions
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for anyone navigating grief, loss, or life transitions - whether recent or in the past. It’s also for those who simply want a gentle space to pause, reflect, and tend to themselves during times of change.
Do I need experience with yoga, meditation, or grief work?
Not at all. All practices are guided and accessible for beginners. You’ll be supported step by step, whether in reflection, movement, or journaling.
What kinds of practices will we do?
We’ll explore a mix of reflection, journaling, guided meditation, nervous system regulation exercises, ritual, and gentle movement (yin yoga). These tools support both emotional and physical well-being.
Is this therapy or a replacement for mental health support?
No. This workshop is a supportive, educational space, not therapy. It can complement other forms of support you may already have.
Is there group work involved?
Yes. Small group activities are offered as a way to deepen your learning, and practice new skills in a supportive environment. There is no requirement to join group activities if it doesn’t feel good.
How deeply personal will the sharing get?
Sharing is always optional. Group activities are guided, with boundaries to keep the focus on learning and reflection rather than detailed personal stories. You can engage at whatever level feels safe for you.
Can I share any personal stories?
Group sharing is guided, and we ask everyone to hold boundaries, keeping the focus on learning rather than telling detailed personal stories of loss.
What if I have personal experiences I need to share?
If you feel called to share your own story more fully, I offer 1:1 sessions online and in-person in Bali, Indonesia. You may also wish to connect with The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath & Death, which offers Holding Space Consultations for those whose stories need to be heard.
What if I can’t attend a live online session?
All online sessions are recorded and available for one month after the workshop, so you can watch at your own pace.
How many people will be in the group?
Groups are intentionally kept small to ensure everyone feels seen, held, and supported.
Do I have to participate in group activities?
No. You are welcome to observe or step back whenever you need. Participation is encouraged but always optional.
What do I need to bring for online or in-person sessions?
- Online: a quiet space, journal, and something comfortable to sit on. You may also wish to have a cup of tea or water & some snacks to hand. You’re also warmly invited to bring an aspect of ritual to your workshop space: perhaps a lit candle, some leaves or flowers or an item that’s meaningful to you.
- In-person: comfortable clothing & a water bottle. You’re also warmly invited to bring something meaningful to place on our altar. Don’t worry, you can take it away again with you when we’ve finished.
Will I receive resources or recordings after each session?
Yes.
Online participants receive recordings, a resource file with suggested readings, and optional practices to support integration.
In-person participants receive the same resource file
What if I feel overwhelmed during the workshop?
Feeling emotional is welcome and natural. You are encouraged to pause, step back, or take a break if needed. The space is designed to be supportive, with tools to help you stay grounded.
Can I share my story, and how is privacy respected?
While work in pairs and small groups may be offered, this is not a space for sharing personal stories of loss.
Within groups you may share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. The workshop honors confidentiality and safe boundaries, and facilitators guide sharing with care.
Is there homework or practice between sessions?
Yes, optional invitations are offered to help you deepen your learning and reflection. These are not requirements, simply opportunities to integrate the work at your own pace.
How can I continue this work after the workshop ends?
Participants are encouraged to continue journaling, mindful practices, ritual, and movement in their daily lives. You may also choose to explore 1:1 sessions for deeper support.
What is the cost, and what’s included?
- Online: US $200 — includes 8 hours of workshops
- In-person: US $300 — includes two half-days, a yin yoga class, journal, and nourishing snacks.
Are sessions accessible for people with physical or sensory needs?
We strive to make the workshop as accessible as possible. Please reach out with any needs or questions, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What is your refund or cancellation policy?
We understand that life is full of the unexpected, and sometimes plans need to shift. If you find you can no longer join us:
Online workshops
- 14 days or more before the workshop begins → you’ll receive a full refund.
- 7–13 days before the workshop begins → you’ll receive a 50% refund.
- Within 7 days of the start date → refunds are not available, but you’re welcome to gift your spot to a friend or, where possible, transfer your registration to a future workshop.

Please note: if you miss a live online session, recordings will be available for one month afterward. Refunds are not given for missed sessions once the workshop series begins.
