Vision & Mission

Optimal women’s health looks like wellness within many realms and at all stages of a woman’s life: mental, physical, spiritual, social, intellectual, financial, environmental and vocational wellness, for example. With women in an optimal state of wellness, our families and communities can be healthier, which then sets the foundations for optimal health and wellness for future generations.

However, at the current time, globally, girls and women are experiencing epidemic levels of health challenges: depression, anxiety, eating disorders, perinatal mood disorders, birth trauma and PTSD to name but a few.

Our belief, at the Tomorrow House, is that these health challenges are symptoms of a much bigger problem, and that the loneliness and isolation many women are experiencing at this time, is because many of us have become disconnected from our powerful intuition, our innate knowledge and our relationships with ourselves.

We have also lost our connections to common rites of passage, to our wise elders and their lived experiences, AND to our powerful sisterhoods and the support women provide to one another in community.

It is through reimagining these connections and communities in the modern world, that we seek to create palpable change here at the Tomorrow House. With these extra layers of support and optimal care taking in place, our houses of tomorrow will be created with stronger and healthier foundations. Cycles of poverty, abuse, disempowerment, disenfranchisement and ill health will have much weaker foundations and will be harder to perpetuate.

Our vision is a world where our daughters, sisters, nieces, friends and neighbours are healthy, thriving and connected and where the status of girls, women and families is elevated.

Our mission is to build stronger, more resilient and more equitable communities. With a focus on rites of passage, life transitions and strengthening support networks, we at the Tomorrow House offer nurturing spaces and specialized learning to support navigating these important and sacred transformations; for girls and women to connect within the power of community and begin to rediscover and strengthen their intuition, innate knowledge and sense of self, with guidance through ritual and ceremony.

We also offer a specialized training for anyone who works with, or shares space with girls and women during the childbearing continuum: The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath and Death ‘Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss’ workshops aim to strengthen and develop knowledge and skills, and inspire optimal care and support for girls, women and families through any kind of pregnancy loss.

Ways in which we can connect

Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss

This five hour, interactive workshop is designed for anyone who works with, or shares space with women during the childbearing continuum, and who wants to be able to better care for women and families during any kind of pregnancy loss or still birth.During our time together, we will explore pregnancy loss through the lens of three deep and intertwined concepts: companioning vs treating, strengthening support networks and the healing power of ritual. This will be a nurturing space in which we can become more curious about our personal and professional experiences of grief and loss, and take a deeper look at how these can inform our interactions with others. We will also explore how the quality of our presence can inform the way people feel when we share space. The workshop is offered throughout different time zones, spread over three weeks or over one day. It can also be curated to be more relevant to specific areas of practice.

Planning for the Fourth Trimester

We are reclaiming a world where an easeful and nourishing postpartum is celebrated and where each woman receives the support she needs to help her recover from the work of pregnancy and birth. We are reclaiming a postpartum where new parents are witnessed, held and supported by their communities and where the work of parenthood is spoken to.
